Get your Podcast into the iTunes music store

Who's got Podcasts in the Store? - Sony BMG, Kerrang radio, Pete Tong, Bob Dylan, Ministry of Sound, Rollingstone, Aimee Mann, John Lennon (rare interviews), ASCAP, Sugarhill Records, Zomba, Tommy Lee, The Beastie Boys, Beck, Bruce Sprinsteen, Geffen records, Ozzy Osbourne, Virgin radio, John Digweed, VH1, etc, and many indy artists, bands, producers & indy radio shows.

Currently it is early days for iTunes - Even tho it gets huge traffic, it tends to be pro's/companies and boffins who are in the Apple site cos there's no simple unified song-hosting and Podcasting site for musicians, but we've sorted out a system to allow any artists to easily get their music into iTunes format, ready for submission to Apple for inclusion in the iTunes store!

Thousands of artists can't be wrong - we've been around for a while always reliably hosting music for people without any fuss, and always adding more facilities whenever we can. Thousands of artists & tracks are hosted by us and delivered up daily.

Why aren't there more unsigned band Podcasts in the iTunes Store? - Because most unsigned bands host their tracks with the current crop of hosting sites like Myspace or Mp3unsigned etc who don't provide facilities for Podcasting. - Most bands and artists have no idea how to get their music into iTunes.

What about me!.. I'm a Deejay & spin records! - Well you're in luck then! - cos we've added the same facilities for all Deejay users! - Create & upload your radio set - fill out your details & add an image/logo, then create your podcast (easy - 1 click!) - then signup with iTunes and add your Podcast to the Store! - Each time you add a new set, iTunes automaticaly updates it!

Why don't other hosting site's like Myspace provide artist Podcasts? - Because hostings sites like Myspace want to make you & your fans visit their site all the time to be exposed to advertising - They force you to use embedded player applets and don't give you direct-links to stream your tunes - Everything they do is setup to drive traffic to their site pages.

There are many artist/band hosting sites on the www - But handing out an Apple Podcast address for your music is way cool! - Podcasts & iTunes are the current buzz technology for punters - Don't miss out on it! - Get into iTunes today while it is is still growing!

Set your band or deejay sets apart from the rest! - While most bands & deejays are running around with Myspace or other hosting addresses you can stand out from the crowd by handing out your Apple Podcast address!! - It gives your potential fans a different vibe! - Music fans don't know the technology at all, but to them, if your band or DJ set is in iTunes it makes you look more pro!

Good for industry people - Just send them your Apple Podcast address and they can load your tracks and details into their iTunes. It seperates you from the masses with typical 'unsigned-band' hosting-site addresses - Deejays?... Club promoters can have you in their iTunes and get your latest sets automaticaly without having to go to any website!

Don't be "Just another unsigned band with a Myspace page" - People are getting jaded with this approach due to the sheer volume of bands on Myspace - It makes you sound like just one of the many - A good idea when it started, Myspace has now become the new 'mp3.com' of the www - And they only give you hosting for 4 songs! - Our system gives you 100mb of space - enuff for a whole album's worth of tracks or a long radio DJ set (for DJ users)!

Once that's done, signup with Apple iTunes

It's free to register with them & free to submit a Podcast - it requires a credit or debit card to register, or, for UK bands, you can use your BT phonebill account-number if you don't fancy using your credit-card.

Once signed-up, you can then submit the provided XML Podcast URL for inclusion in the store.

Typicaly it takes around 3-4 days to get a reply - When the reply email comes back from Apple, if your Podcast is approved, you get your unique Apple store link/address which opens the iTunes software and loads the Podcast.

Your Apple Podcast address link will look like this, but with your unique Apple id number on the end:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=xxxxxxx

Your Apple Podcast address link can be used in emails, webpages etc.

Your Podcast can also be used without submission to iTunes - If you give the XML address to someone they can use it to load your tracks & details into iTunes in one move & update anytime to check for changes.

Updating your Podcast - You can update any aspect of the podcast at anytime via your admin on our site, and the iTunes store picks up any changes after about an hour.

So, why wait! - It's early days for iTunes and the current ratio of traffic to Podcasts is VERY high right now, as there's only about 20,000 podcasts for all genres in the iTunes store & podcasts are very popular cos they are all free.

It's a great way to promo your music and it's kinda cool to to hand out your songs to people with an Apple address like the big signed bands or named deejays do!

Where are the data & the song/mix files for the Podcasts hosted?

We run the system on Quad-Opteron servers located in an ultra-secure network-center housed in an ex-NATO nuclear bunker - www.thebunker.net - Loading times are fast & your Podcast will be online even if the UK National-Grid goes down!

That's how easy it is! - We offer all facilities for FREE - To start creating your Podcast experience signup with the Audioindy site and start adding some songs!

cheers
