Mmm.

My SN2 is in program mode and I'm sending it midi notes which should slide.

However - only some of them are, randomly!

The patch is definitely in mono, so any ideas what could be the problem (other than firmware bug)?

Ta!

Yep, my nova2 has the same problem. I usually end up programing slides by drawing in cc data for the pitch wheel- very annoying. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next OS

Which portamento setting are you using? (normal, auto)

Maybe the problems lies there...

Nope - I've tried all combinations of portamento and it does the same.

Please check this Novation if you're reading...

It's a pain in the arse!

Actually, just re-checked - it's the auto-glide.

It randomly forgets to do the glide.

I think the theory (according to the manual) is that it's supposed to reset the glide when gaps appear between notes and glide when notes overlap.

On overlapping notes - sometimes it doesn't do the job.

Can someone confirm this problem please?

Is it likely to be fixed in the near future Novation?

I don't have this kind of problem with any of my other kit!

I think that it only does this when the glide is set to linear (TB303 glide). The Supernova also does this. However, the SNII may be different. Try switching it to exponential and it may work ok...

I really hope that the problem isn't related with the linear portamento, 'cause Novation already know about the Super/Nova linear portamento problem from Jan 2000, when I told them about it.

Chris, I can definitely confirm that on my NovaII. Hey novation, could you look at this for us? It seems like our synths randomly choose when to glide.

Nick confirmed that this is a problem on the SN2 at least.

He reckons it'll be fixed in the next release.

Hope it arrives quicker than the SN1 OS4!

;o)

Yeah no joke. New features are one thing, but no glide! This is a highly limiting problem that neeeds to be fixed.
