Sweden Stuff! Elektron released an prototype of the "Machinedrum" a new 808 / 909 Style Drum Machine. But not really a clone. It have his own charakter. And looks not bad.

The Price is about 1.000 USD.

I heard the MP3's on the Machinedrum site. The box sounds like
an ER-1 with individual outs. It's not making me want to go run out
and buy one immediately. Not bad tho

...you inspired me to fire up my Akai Remix 16 sampler and
I swear that the sounds that a person can get in a sampler , cannot be accessed with any other box . Especially if you crush the sounds through modulation and downgrading the sample quality. The edge in sonic possibilities is no where to be found. But that wouldn't really be concruent with your music styel would it? You got me all lit up to use my sampler all the time now.

Hmmm, now listen to them loops through a big set of speakers, I listened thru my pc speakers and thought they were a bit pants but then I tried them thru my Event 20/20 monitors and they do have some bottom end. I do think it sounds a wee bit punchier than my ER1 and Drumstation but not different enough to buy on the strength of those loops anyway. More for non drum authchere type sounds methinks.
