yeah well EMI have already pulled it off....have gone a bit mad really....but had this DJ Dangermouse asked for permission they would have said no anyway...sometimes pays to be illegal....at least people get to hear the fruit of your wares..

i for one have a tune im happy with, that others like but cant ever be released due to a spoken word sample from Richie Havens...having spoken to his Estate they said they would like to hear it but know the guys who made the woodstock video from which the sample came will def say 'no!'- bah!

the best shit i've seen like that is "pauls' boutique" completely, meticulously reassembled and rerapped in swedish. bunch of lumberjack looking wool-clad bearded guys.

you know, it's like that bit with the gating and the scratching.. "some static started at the pool hall.." except it's gating and scratching and "hooch de hoo do hodey ho" very disorienting.

afaik that cd is one of the in-house discs at kxci (.org i think) if you want to bug them aobut it. yep, i imagine it would be significantly weird for anyone familiar with the original.
