Im really really really working on keeping my opinion to myself, because ultimately I am aware that in the grand scheme of things I dont know SHIT

except that the US has a long history of some pretty f-ed up shit, but so do ALL the other big govts

conclusion? big govt = sinister. no two ways about it

milan- "we are talking about evolution after all, not war on terrorism or anything trivial like that "

What exactly are you talking about? Cause I don't know...

"yeah, but thats not what darwin meant i'm pretty sure :P
fact is if you're useless, if you suck, if you're incapable of getting shit done, you're gonna sink and someone else will progress. we are all in a competition, whether we like it or not. "

Yes, but to say that aspect of our nature is the "driving force of evolution" (which, yeah, that's what Darwin meant) is only seeing one side of the coin. If you look at any cross section of our vast ecosystem, you will see hundreds, if not thousands of species coexisting, all living off the same resources. You'll find dozens of species of creatures consuming ONE type of resource, but each consuming different parts. The web of life is absolutely amazing, as I'm sure I don't have to remind any of you, and to say that only "survival of the fittest" created what we have, well... I laugh at you.

its complex psy

competition is the result, that was better at that time so its numbers got more and it used more of the available resource, its not a bunny with molars racing a bunny with incisors, the environment changes and how each species (individual ata place in time) responds and flourishes (at the cost of removing resource from others). then there relationships, parasites flourish in hosts and synergetic relationships (lucky things) are interelated but different as either can also diverge off elsewhere, have a look at evolution guys, its fascinating

so all this interelationship stuff - i am interested in cellular (bio) warfare jf (watch plants fight over decades) loverly

psy- of course its just one side of the coin. never said it wasnt.
but just as you cant ignore cooperation, you cant really ignore competition either.

both are driving forces... no? many great things were born out of mixture of both.

to conclude: you cant discard it, now matter how hippy-like your leanings are :P
